David Politis, also known as “Poppa P,” is an accomplished business executive, financial research analyst, investor relations strategist, and technology journalist with nearly 40 years of experience helping companies strengthen their market positioning, attract investment, accelerate business growth, and communicate their value to investors and stakeholders. As the Founder, CEO, and Chief Analyst of Money Watch Research (MWR), David specializes in analyzing capital flows, investment opportunities, mergers and acquisitions, and the financial forces shaping businesses and industries.

Throughout his career, David has worked at the intersection of business strategy, technology, public relations, investor relations, marketing, and strategic communications. His experience includes advising companies before and after initial public offerings, supporting organizations navigating mergers and acquisitions, developing financial communications, preparing investor presentations, and helping executives position their businesses for capital raises and higher valuations.

David began his investor relations career in 1988 with publicly traded KeyTronic, establishing a foundation in financial communications and capital markets that has influenced his work for nearly four decades. Since then, his strategic communications, marketing, and investor relations efforts have helped clients achieve more than $1.2 billion in increased market value and develop over $800 million in new sales pipelines.

Through Money Watch Research, David leads independent financial research and market intelligence initiatives that examine how investments, financing transactions, ownership structures, and institutional capital influence economic development and business opportunities. His research draws on SEC filings, investor disclosures, financial statements, and transaction announcements to uncover important insights that may not be apparent in traditional business headlines.

His firm's inaugural research publication, Utah Energy Report (MoneyFlow 2026), examines more than $18.2 billion in disclosed institutional capital across Utah's energy economy between 2023 and 2025, highlighting investment activity and financial trends shaping the region's future.

Beyond financial research, David has made significant contributions to business journalism and Utah's technology ecosystem. Through Utah Tech Watch, he spent a decade writing and syndicating columns covering technology, innovation, entrepreneurship, and business development. He also served as Editorial Director and Publisher of Silicon Slopes, helping document and amplify the growth of Utah's entrepreneurial and technology communities.

Since 2023, David has independently researched and reported on Utah's financial landscape through Utah Money Watch, examining the investors, transactions, and ownership decisions influencing businesses and regional economic growth.

David is also passionate about supporting entrepreneurs and emerging companies. He has mentored more than 40 entrepreneurial teams through VentureCapital.org, the University of Utah's Bench-to-Bedside program, and direct consulting engagements. His guidance helps founders strengthen their business strategies, communicate their value, understand investor expectations, and prepare for important growth and financing opportunities.

Combining decades of executive advisory experience with investigative financial research, David brings a unique perspective to understanding how companies create value, attract capital, and position themselves for long-term success. He believes that examining the financial decisions and capital movements behind business activity can reveal opportunities that others overlook.

His mission is simple: Help business leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors understand where capital is moving, uncover emerging opportunities, and make better strategic decisions through independent research, financial intelligence, and compelling business communications.

Based in Lehi, Utah, David works with entrepreneurs, CEOs, investors, financial professionals, business executives, and organizations seeking deeper market intelligence, stronger investor communications, capital-raising strategies, improved business positioning, and insights into the investments and transactions shaping tomorrow's economy.

His guiding philosophy: “Follow the Money. See Opportunity Differently.”
